Our practice had been using the same Medisoft vendor beginning with the DOS versions of the 90’s up to Version 15. We had questions about a new version and decided to open up our vendor options after not getting the answers we were seeking. We spoke to local and national vendors, 4 or 5 in all as I recall, and came to the conclusion that we were most comfortable with Computer Mate. All the issues we had been struggling with have been resolved and we are more efficient and productive as a result. How often do I need to upgrade Medisoft?
There’s no requirement for when you must upgrade, unless there’s been an industry wide change in the billing format which would only be included in the latest versions.
Will Medisoft print paper claims?
Yes. In addition to the electronic claims option, you can print your claims on a pre-printed Claim form, or choose an option to print to regular paper and have the software create the form.
What if I need a report that is not available in Medisoft?
If you have a unique report request that is not contained in the extensive list of reports, We can customize your report (there is a service fee per report design).
Can I install Medisoft on my personal laptop and on my office computer?
This practice was allowed with previous versions, but if you are upgrading to a later version, you are now required to purchase 2 licenses in order to do that. You are able to access Medisoft from multiple devices and multiple locations with a single license on our cloud version.
Can I keep copies of patient insurance cards, X-Rays, and other documents in the patient chart?
Yes, you can attach scanned copies of anything to a patient file.
Can I schedule patient appointments in Medisoft?
Not in Medisoft, but there is an accompanying software called Office Hours for scheduling appointments that comes with every version of Medisoft.
